Spiritual retreat in the Terra Alta
A place to stop, breathe and come back to what matters, in the heart of the Terra Alta.
An experience of reconnection
A place where calm, nature and awareness meet to offer you a real break from everyday life.
A place where time dissolves and the present takes over, in a small country house. A retreat for individuals, groups or families that you can adapt to your own needs.
The space is designed so that each person lives their own experience. That includes the youngest ones: there is a safe, playful setting with gentle materials for exploring, playing and connecting with natural elements.
With 80 well-planned square metres, the house offers comfort without excess. It runs on essential, sustainable resources, which lets you live with just what you need while becoming aware of how we use water, light and energy.
The setting
Set beside a river of crystal-clear water, on land surrounded by greenery, clean air and silence. It is the perfect setting for rest, contemplation, forest bathing and walks or bike rides along the Via Verda greenway.
Because the house runs on limited resources —such as water and solar energy— we invite our guests to value each one, turning every action into an act of respect and connection with the Earth.
A chance to reconnect, disconnect and breathe.

Families too: you can come here with children
The retreat is not only for those who come alone. The house is ready for families with children: a safe, playful setting with gentle materials for exploring, playing and being in contact with natural elements. And there are activities to share as a family —yoga together, hiking adapted to the pace of the little ones, conscious education workshops and nonviolent communication workshops— that can be added to your stay.
You can also come as a couple, with friends or in a small group. Tell us how many of you there are and what ages, and we will adapt the stay and the activities to what you need those days.

Frequently asked questions about the retreat
What is a spiritual retreat and what exactly do you do?
A retreat means stepping away from your routine for a few days so you can listen to yourself. Here that means a country house beside a river, in the heart of the Terra Alta (Catalonia, Spain), with guided meditations or yoga sessions, forest bathing, bike rides along the Via Verda greenway and, above all, plenty of room to do nothing at all. There is no compulsory timetable and no programme to keep to: it adapts to what you need those days.
Is it a religious retreat?
No. It is not linked to any religion or denomination, and there is no liturgy, no prayers and no belief to share. We say so plainly because in Spain many people who search for a “spiritual retreat” have a Catholic retreat house in mind, and this is something else: an offer of rest, nature and physical practice, open to anyone.
Where is it and what does the stay include?
In Horta de Sant Joan, in the Terra Alta county (Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain). It is an 80 m² country house beside a river of crystal-clear water, running on sustainable resources. The stay includes accommodation and meals, guided meditations or yoga sessions, forest bathing, bike rides along the Via Verda and spaces to rest. There are optional activities at extra cost.
How long is it? Can I come just for a weekend?
Yes. The retreat is available all year round, for weekends or for longer stays. A weekend is enough to switch off; from three or four days onwards the rest settles in differently. You choose according to the time you have.
Can I come as a couple, as a family or in a group?
All three, and on your own too. The house works for individual stays, for couples, for families with children —it is set up for the youngest ones— and for small groups who want to come together. Tell us how many of you there are and what ages, and we will tell you how we can organise it.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the length of the stay and the number of people, so there is no single price. Write to us through the form telling us when you would like to come and how many of you there are, and we will send you the details with no obligation.
How do I prepare? What should I bring?
Not much: comfortable clothes, footwear for walking in the countryside, something warm even in summer —it cools down at night— and a willingness to slow down. No previous experience of yoga or meditation is needed. What helps most in preparing for a retreat does not go in the suitcase: telling work, settling what you can and arriving without your diary in your head.
